July 31 – August 12, 2018: Kilimanjaro, Safari, & School

Climb Africa’s highest mountain and Make A Difference Too!

Join MAD on a fundraising climb and safari that will change your life and truly make a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth. The first week will be spent learning about the local Chagga culture and at the children’s school. The second week will be spent climbing Africa’s highest peak, followed by a safari.

  • DAY 2-4 / AUG 1-3: Volunteering with Make A Difference Now, overnight MAD Guest House

  • DAY 11 / AUG 10: Overnight Bristol Cottages

February 20-24, 2019: Patagonia W-Trek

Join MAD for this five-day expedition to support education while immersing yourself in the beauty and popular sites of southern Patagonia. The trails in between the famous Torres del Paine craggy mountains are among the world’s classic hiking routes. Hike the famous and challenging “W”, enjoy the terrific view of Los Cuernos,

This trip is ideal for travelers who enjoy trekking into the wilderness. You’ll spend overnights in an EcoCamp with large domed tents similar to yurts.

Itinerary in Brief:

  • DAY 1 / FEB 20: 5-DAY W-TREK Travel from Punta Arenas to Torres del Paine National Park – Settle in and  enjoy a delicious meal with fellow climbers. You’ll spend the first night at EcoCamp, in a very comfortable dome-shaped tent with views of the stars.
  • DAY 2 / FEB 21: Western Lakes and Pingo Trail – Today’s activities include a tour of the Park’s western lakes and a hike on the Pingo trail, with the possibility of seeing Huemul, the endangered South Andean deer.
  • DAY 3 / FEB 22: Pehoe Lake crossing and Valle del Frances Trail – We’ll start the day by crossing Lake Pehoe and trekking to the Valle del Frances Trail where you’ll get a 360 degree view of the mountains.
  • DAY 4 / FEB 23: Trek to the base of the Towers – Hike to the base of the Torres del Paine Towers. Challenging but extremely rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Torres del Paine!
  • DAY 5 / FEB 24: Drive to Punta Arenas for Departure – After a hearty breakfast say goodbye to our beautiful surroundings and return to Punta Arenas for your flight home.

September 9-17, 2019: Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Itinerary in Brief:

  • DAY 1 / SEP 9: Arrive in Lima. Relax at hotel of your choice (on own). Next day flight to Cusco to meet up with group.
  • DAY 2 / SEP 10: Arrive in Cusco, afternoon tour, visit to school to meet one of the students you’re helping, overnight in Cusco
  • DAY 3 / SEP 11: Full day tour of the Sacred Valley with lunch and overnight in the Sacred Valley
  • DAY 4-8 / SEP 12-16: 5-DAY INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU. Day 8 tour of Machu Picchu. End in Cusco
  • DAY 9 / SEP 17: Departure from Cusco
  • DAYS 10-12 / SEP 18-20: Optional 3-day popular add-on to visit the Amazon Rainforest.
